Another year has passed

Another year has passed, the AGM was well attended and our new Security Provider 24/7 Security Services has proven that they are intentional about their support for Dowerglen Ext 4.

Apart from the unexpected surprise we received by the sudden takeover of SSG, we have experienced no other serious glitches.

The committee has done a lot of good work this past year to engage with council on various issues, most of which was attended to but alas, we still wait for some action with the street lights. We continue to maintain our parks, entrances, booms and have recently painted the guardhouses.

The new speed humps have certainly slowed the traffic down and we have had positive response about this. However, we still have residents and visitors alike that ignore the stop signs, this we can only change by becoming more aware and to escalate directly to Metro Police who would love to earn a little for their coffers….

We have welcomed new residents over the past year all of whom contribute towards our road closure and security, but also bid farewell to a few ‘old’ residents that have moved onto smaller spaces. In a community such as ours it is heart-warming to get to know each other and to be able to have good communication.

The parks continue to look wonderful and the new trees in Juniper Park love the weekly attention and of course the blessing of all the rain. We are noticing that some of our residents are leaving litter behind; please ensure that you pick up after yourself and your doggy too!!!

Thank you for your support in all the committee’s endeavours as well as the unexpected pressures we were faced with this year. We encourage you to remain patient at the gates and adhere to the area rules. Please remain vigilant as we count on each other to uphold the security in our area.
