Even though our winter was mild this year, we have hibernated somewhat and our suburb seems to be less active with children and residents walking in the streets and using the parks.
Our gardens are looking wonderful even now and some residents have taken to re-designing their entrances, renovating and painting. Good to see activity and hopefully the stragglers in Essenhout and Amandel will take a hint to do the same?
Telkom have been busy upgrading their services in the area and seems to be making good progress.
We have welcomed a few new residents whom are all supportive of our road closure and efforts to maintain our security. You will notice a map of the area that highlights those residents that do not contribute towards keeping our pristine suburb secure and crime free.
The committee is in the process of securing speed humps which have been approved by Council. These will be built in Essenhout and Juniper with possible traffic calmers in Amandel.
We are investigating additional security measures at the entrances and will keep you posted.
Dowerglen Ext 4 remains a crime free area – with only a few minor incidents all related to personal disregard – for the past five years. The committee meets regularly, remains dedicated, active and in close communication with each other, SSG and our community.
